One of my favorite things to do is on the weekends is to check out local garage sales to try and find lawn equipment that I can use and review for my websites. I have found countless deals on quality equipment and this is how I was able to find the Toro Power Sweep 51585 electric blower.
Although the blower sells online for under $40 online, I was able to purchase the blower for half that. It was in like-new condition and had only been used a few times. It even came with the original box and paperwork.

My Toro Power Sweep Review:
As I was paying for the Toro Power Sweep blower, I asked the couple why they were getting rid of the blower since it looked to be in such fine condition. They explained that they were moving to a community where the lawn maintenance would be provided and therefore they no longer needed it. However, they made sure to let me know how satisfied they were with the performance of the blower. They had only used it just a few times, but it ran well and did what they needed it to do.
My parents also enjoy my hobby of buying new lawn equipment since I try out a lot of the equipment at their home and I end up doing some lawn work for free! So, as usual, I took the blower to their house to try it out.
The first thing to note is that since this is an electric blower, make sure you own an outdoor extension cord that is long enough to reach all of the areas of your lawn that you need it for. The one I use is 100 feet long and allows me plenty of room. Once I had the Toro 51585 Power Sweep plugged in, I went to work cleaning up some leaves.
The leaf blower did run well and did not produce a lot of noise. It’s very lightweight, weighing just 4.6 pounds. I was impressed by how easy it was to use. Changing between the two speeds is simple because the control button is conveniently located on the handle, just beneath your thumb when you are using it.
I was able to move most of the light, dry leaves and debris using the Power Sweep without issue. However, if you need something for heavier, damp leaves you will need a leaf blower with a little more power. Also, keep in mind that this blower does not include a vacuum like some of the other popular electric Toro leaf blowers.
Another popular benefit of the Toro 51585 blower is that because it is an electric blower, there is no gas to store at your home. Electric blowers also need less maintenance and they are easy to store in your garage or basement area.
The Toro Power Sweep 51585 is an ideal leaf blower for clearing off decks, patios, walkways, etc. It can also be used for light leaf cleanup jobs around your home. The blower performs very well for the low price tag. You won’t be disappointed.
