Summary:

Nice combo blower!

husqvarna 125bvxThe Husqvarna 125BVx is a combo blower/vacuum unit that is designed for both homeowners and landscape professionals. It is gas powered, as opposed to electric like most of the other combo units on the market. That means there are no cords to contend with, but it also has a higher price tag than most electric models.

These lawn tools that combine to work as both a blower and a vacuum are wildly popular with homeowners. Unfortunately, most of the time they are underwhelmed by the performance of the vac.

Husqvarna 125BVx Review

Husqvarna has been in the business of manufacturing quality lawn and landscape equipment for many years, and the 125BVx is no exception. In fact it was named a “Best Buy” by Consumer’s Digest. On top of that it has received mostly all positive reviews from those who have purchased it.

What do owners of the Husqvarna 125BVx like so much about this blower/vac? To begin with, the Husqvarna engineers put a lot of thought into making this blower easy and comfortable for the user to use on any type of job. The blower tube is in line with the handle, whereas most other blowers the nozzle is offset to one side or the other. By having the tube centered, this minimizes the rotational force on the wrist, which can be quite heavy with a blower with such power.

There are a number of other features that make the Husqvarna 125BVx user friendly. It has an ergonomic design and a soft grip handle in order to reduce user fatigue. You can also adjust the length of the blower tubes to make it easier for different jobs and more comfortable for people of different sizes. The leaf blower features Smart Start technology that makes it easy to start by reducing resistance in the starting cord by 40%. The 125BVx also comes with the “cruise control” function which is very popular with homeowners.

The Husqvarna 125BVx has a larger than normal 16.91 ounce gas tank. This is a feature not found on many other blowers in its class. This allows the user to use the blower for prolonged periods of time without having to frequently add gas.

As mentioned, the Husqvarna 125BVx works as a blower and a vacuum. As a blower, it offers plenty of power, blowing up to 170 mph. The wide range of power it provides makes this a capable tool for both small, light jobs and heavy, thick leaf cleanups. In addition, it comes with two different style nozzles- one round and one flat.

Like many other blower/vac combo units, people who own the Husqvarna 125BVx are extremely pleased with the performance of the blower and mostly disappointed with the vacuum. The complaints are usually the same. They expect the vacuum to be able to handle more debris and work at a faster pace. They become frustrated when it gets clogged or can’t handle a larger load. Many realize that it’s ultimately easier to do the work manually.

This is not to say that the unit can’t be effective in all situations. Just don’t expect it to be able to clean up a large pile of leaves and lawn debris in a short period of time. Set realistic expectations for the tool and use it accordingly.

The Husqvarna 125BVx is a well designed lawn tool that works best as a blower. It has the ability to work as a lawn vac, but don’t expect too much. It can not handle large loads and it will take extra time to pick up the lawn debris. Since it is a gas powered unit, the Husqvarna is priced higher than the other blower/vac combo units. If you prefer an electric model, try the Toro 51599 which costs less.
